Marxisme Festival
7, 8 and 9 June 2024, Ru Paré, Amsterdam
On June 7, 8 and 9, we as International Socialists organize our annual Marxism Festival. A festival dedicated to political discussion, Marxist theory and culture. It is a moment when we want to come together with as many people as possible in the fight for a just society.
Resistance is needed
Massive struggle is needed to overthrow capitalism. Together with allies and activists from various left-wing movements, we want to offer perspective and guidance. Whether you are a new activist, curious about ideas or a seasoned theorist: we would like to invite you to join the discussion and help build resistance! Doing nothing is not an option.
What to expect?
At the Marxism festival there is room for debate and discussions. The common thread throughout the festival is the Palestinian freedom struggle. We also explore topics that are closely related to current political developments. We will reflect on the question why the working class is still so important to socialists. The slogan 'system change, not climate change' is common among climate activists, but what do we actually mean by system change and revolution? How should we relate to the state? In other meetings we reflect on current events themselves, such as the fight against the PVV cabinet, the question of how we build a strong climate movement and the appeal of the extreme right to young men. During the weekend of the European Parliament elections, we also discuss the character of the European project.
In addition to more than 25 meetings on numerous topics, there is also room for relaxation and culture. On Saturday evening we serve food and there is music. Marxism Festival is a meeting point for left-wing activists and critical thinkers.
